Maps
Tumbarumba Shire is located on the south western slopes of the Snowy Mountains, about half way between Sydney and Melbourne, and is 701 metres above sea level.
From the west, turn off the Hume Highway at Gundagai, Kyeamba (near Wagga turn off), or Holbrook. From the north, travel the scenic routes over the Snowy Mountains via the Elliott Way or the Kosciuszko Alpine Way. From the south, travel up the Murray River Valley from Albury.
The Tumbarumba region extends from Laurel Hill in the north, to Mount
Kosciuszko in the South. This map indicates distances, attractions, and picnic
and camping areas.
The Snowy Valleys Way offers a scenic and experiential alternative to the
Hume Highway. The route takes in the five shires of Gundagai, Tumut,
Tumbarumba, in NSW, and Towong and Indigo in Victoria.
