Tumbarumba is well known as an area that produces good quality cool climate wines. There are now around 25 vineyards producing sparkling and table wines. Varieties include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Shiraz, Merlot, and Sangiovese.

Local wine maker Chris Thomas blends the produce of some of these vineyards into the Kosciusko wines.
