Tumbarumba - Laurel Hill
A short drive of around 20 minutes takes you to Laurel Hill. The mill at Laurel
Hill processed hardwood for many years; the timber for boat oars and sulky
shafts was produced here Laurel Hill boasts a general store, the Asgard Nursery
which specialises in cool climate plants (soups in winter, morning and
afternoon teas) open Thursday to Monday 10 -4,and the Laurel Hill Berry Farm
(soups, pancakes). open only on Sundays 10 -4.
The Sugar Pine Walk is found about 400 metres down the main logging road to the right immediately after the village. (Knopsens Road in Bago Forest) On your return, take the Courabyra Road for an alternative route with views of the mountains back to Tumbarumba.
