Laurel Hill
The hamlet of Laurel Hill is 22 kilometres from Tumbarumba on the road to Batlow and Tumut. The mill here once produced hard wood timber for many years, specialising in the production of timber for boat oars and sulky shafts.
The Lochinvar picnic area has some lovely old and interesting trees. If only trees could talk! Lochinvar is the site of a once splendid garden. The site was once owned and lived at for a century by a succession of families since the beginning of European settlement in the 1860's.
Don't miss:
Asgard Nursery, open Thursday to Monday, specialising in cool climate plants. There is a tea room with home jams, berries when in season, and gifts
The Sugar Pine Walk, located about 400 metres along Knopsens Road.
Laurel Hill Blueberry Farm, open on Sundays.
